Personal Data We Collect
In this Privacy Policy, "Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. We may collect and process Personal Data about you in the ways outlined below. Where applicable, we indicate whether and why you must provide us with your Personal Data, as well as the consequences of failing to do so. If you do not provide Personal Data when requested, you may not be able to benefit from our Services if that information is necessary to provide you with them or if we are legally required to collect it.
Information provided by you
- When you create an account and sign up for our Services. If you register for an account, we will ask you to provide us with Personal Data, including your name and email address. If you are signing up for our TrustedSite certification, TrustedSite Business services, or services offered by Halo Security, we may ask you to provide your organization's name, your work email and phone number, and role at your company. If you sign up using a Google account, we will also receive information from Google, such as your name, email address, language preferences, and profile photo.
- When you sign up to our email newsletter. We may offer email newsletters from time to time on our Services. If you sign up to receive a newsletter from us, we may ask you to provide Personal Data, such as your email address. When we send you emails, we may use embedded pixels or other technologies to track information about your receipt and interaction with our emails, such as whether and when you open them, whether you access any links included in our emails, how long you read our emails, whether you forward our emails and to whom, your Location Information (described below), and your Device Information (described below), to learn how to deliver a better customer experience and improve our Services.
- When you choose to activate your identity protection insurance. When you make a purchase on a TrustedSite certified website, we may offer you identity protection. If you choose to opt in, we ask for your Personal Data such as your email, name, and country of residence, to pass onto our insurance provider.
- When you use our interactive features. Our Services may contain interactive functionality that allows you to engage with other users on the Services, post comments to forums, to upload photographs and other content (the "User Materials"), participate in surveys, and otherwise to interact with the Services and with other users. If you use any interactive functionality on our Services that request or permit you to provide us with Personal Information (including, for example, any services that allow you to post User Materials on any of our Services), we may collect the Personal Data that you provide to us in the course of using these interactive features.
- When you provide us with a testimonial. If you choose to submit a testimonial to our website, we may ask you for and publicly post your statement, your video, your name, your company logo, and any information provided in your submitted testimonial.
- When you make a payment. If you make a payment on our Services, your payment-related information, such as credit card or other financial information, is collected by our third-party payment processor on our behalf.
- When you contact us. If you contact us directly, we may collect the Personal Data, such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of a message or attachments that you may send to us, and other information you choose to provide. When you communicate with us online, third party vendors receive and store these communications on our behalf. If you sign up for our free ebook, we may collect information such as your name, phone number, job role, email, and website URL.
- When you apply for a job with TrustedSite. If you contact us to apply for a job with TrustedSite, we will process your job application, including your resume and other Personal Data you submit to us in that context.
- If you sign up to be in our affiliate program. If you sign up to be an affiliate partner, we ask you for your language preference, country, email, and password.
Information collected when you use our Services
- Location Information. When you use our Services, we receive your location information. For example, we infer your location information by using your IP address.
- Device Information. We receive information about the device and software you use to access our Services, including IP address, device type, device identifiers, web browser type and version, operating system version.
